Vytautas Serys (b. in 1931) is one of the well-known Lithuanian artists from the senior generation. Although he started as a sculptor, painting has been another vast area of his creative work. His painting (mostly done on paper) has been developing through different stages of abstract tradition, thus making it almost inaccessible to a wider public during the Soviet times. This solo exhibition brings together some of his best wooden sculptures and a collection of paintings, mostly made of the works of last couple of years. Vytautas Šerys lives and works in Vilnius. He is a member of Group 24. He was awarded the National Prize in 1995.
