Saturday, November 29 at 12:00 (noon) at the CAC Cinema
Dear ___________:
It is a great pleasure to reach out to you with the following proposition inside of a series of sessions titled "Pharmacokinetics of an Element" held at the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius. This series has taken place over two sessions and concludes this Saturday from 12:00 – 14:00 with the CAC’s Cinema turning into a call centre: artists, scientists, philosophers, and scholars across disciplines will tackle a multiplicity of orientations and critical approaches to the climate change debate currently defining our epoch. This is where we would kindly like to invite you to participate in a 15 minute phone intervention with your expertise.
This session, titled "The World in Which We Occur," is inspired by artist James Lee Byars’ "World Question Centre" where the artist in a live broadcast, surrounded by a few people, speaks over the phone to a number of intellectuals and asks them to tell him what question preoccupies them. Our call centre is similar in that it treats the telephone as a vehicle for a discussion, yet we would like to ask our experts to reflect on questions in the context of the current climate change debate and with relevance to their own work. We would ask you to pose one core question and you could spend 15 mins discussing it.
If you do accept our invitation, we would assign you a 15 min slot in the 12:00-14:00 pm hour Vilnius EEE (GMT/UTC + 02:00 hour). We would also ask that you provide a landline (of preference) or cellphone to contact you on.
The format intends to be a natural and colloquial space for exchange and reflection where other questions can emerge or more succinct answers are permitted.
For more information on the past series please see here:

It would be an honor to have you in our company and we could easily have a conversation in advance to prepare for the session.
Best regards from the organizers,
Jennifer Teets, Margarida Mendes, and CAC Vilnius
