Algimantas Kuras (b. 1940, member of Group 24) is primarily known as a painter, but for this exhibition at the CAC he has decided to show another side of his work. The visitor will not see his oil paintings but instead drawings, sketches, drafts of projects, unfinished works or objects which very often serve as a source of inspiration.

In most cases, the works shown in the exhibition are sketches of unfulfilled ideas. Very often these ideas are not even realisable. The objects presented have different meanings. They are needless objects, the function of which have been washed by time. It has been a long time since Algimantas Kuras started to transform these objects into paintings, whose ‘portraits’ have become a special feature of Algimantas Kuras works.
