Explore the Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) exhibitions with our expert tour guides! These guided tours introduce you to the work of artists currently on view – Anouk De Clercq, Barbora Fastrová & Johanna Pošová, Augustas Serapinas, and Anastasia Sosunova – along with the key ideas behind their exhibitions.
Augustas Serapinas’s exhibition ‘Physical Culture’ is one of his most ambitious presentations to date. This installation invites us to reconsider Western art history and rethink local education systems, which emphasise repetitive practice and diligent, hard work – paralleled here with the discipline of working out in a gym.
Anastasia Sosunova’s exhibition ‘Fandom’ continues her exploration of DIY culture, examining the relationship between commercialism and spirituality through a variety of artistic expressions.
Anouk De Clercq’s exhibition ‘We’ll Find You When the Sun Goes Black’ features a video depicting two birds in a weightless realm, their songs summoning the Sun – until an eclipse reveals the stars. Birdsong reflects on beginnings and endings, offering a meditation on a world where humanity no longer exists – a postlapsarian paradise, a kind of love at last sight.
Barbora Fastrová & Johanna Pošová’s single-work exhibition in the CAC South Hall presents ‘Breasts, Children, Creatures, and Waste’ (2022), a tapestry woven from textile waste – second-hand clothes, bedding, and leftover factory fabrics. The duo, who have collaborated for nearly a decade, have recently focused their practice on sustainability.

Tour Guides
MARTYNAS PEKARSKAS is a Lithuanian visual artist whose work explores colour, line, text, and objects to examine visuality, time, contemporary art discourses, and the human relationship with imagination and the external world. He creates paintings, drawings, and installations and actively participates in exhibitions and artistic projects.
MILDA VENSLAVIČIŪTĖ is an architect and practicing watercolourist. She connects these two fields through an interest in human interiority, social phenomena, and the influence of the environment on individuals. She sees her work as a search for commonality, believing body language can convey universal human experiences beyond cultural and linguistic barriers – much like how encounters in exhibitions can spark dialogue through shared visual experiences.
EMILIJA LIPSKA is a History and Theory of Art student at Vilnius Academy of Arts with a strong interest in contemporary art and curation. She works as an exhibition consultant at the CAC and leads guided tours, deepening her understanding of contemporary artistic ideas, contexts, and practices.
AGNĖ TALIŪTĖ is an art historian, curator, educator, and the curator of the CAC’s community engagement programme. With over eight years of experience in cultural education, she has designed and led guided tours and educational programmes in various cultural institutions.
