Lifting Down is a project by the architect Gintaras Kuginis in collaboration with the composer Linas Rimsa.
Gintaras Kuginis made a temporal architectural transformation of the North Hall of the CAC building. Six square meters of CAC ceiling was moved to a level two meters over spectators’ heads. Additionally Linas Rimsa transformed a stable ‘white cube‘ space into dynamic place of exposition. The sound of electronic musical composition activated the dynamism of the architectural space. This composition based on the gagaku motif of traditional Japanese music.
