Open call for students from various disciplines and academic levels to participate in the educational programme ‘Of Woven Voices and Glittering Dread’

The Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) invites students from various disciplines and academic levels to participate in the educational programme ‘Of Woven Voices and Glittering Dread’. This is the sixth edition of the programme, which brings together the fields of political science and art. As in previous years, it consists of closed and public meetings, discussions, and workshops.

The point of departure for this year’s programme is two exhibitions at the CAC: Lina Lapelytė’s ‘Gatherings’ (9 October 2026–10 January 2027) and Agnieszka Polska’s ‘Horror Desire Fantasy’ (23 October 2026–10 January 2027).

Through these exhibitions, we will look for connections between voice, language, body and image. We will listen to voices speaking, singing, murmuring, roaring and weeping, and consider how they gather into collective forms – or stray from them.

Together, we will investigate what a voice can carry: a body, a message, a memory, a lament, a refusal. And what happens when voices become entangled with other bodies, images, technologies and environments.

Participants can expect talks, readings, exhibition visits, screenings of video works and films, and meetings with representatives from the fields of art and politics. Participants will work alongside the programme’s mentors – Jogilė Ulinskaitė (Institute of International Relations and Political Science, Vilnius University) and Vytenis Burokas (Vilnius Academy of Arts).
