Since the mid-1970s, Barbara Kruger (born 1945) has been interrogating the hierarchies of power and control in works that often combine visual and written language. In her singular graphic style, Kruger probes aspects of identity, desire and consumerism that are embedded in our everyday lives. This volume traces her continuously evolving practice to reveal how she adapts her work in accordance with the moment, site and context. The book features a range of striking images—from her analogue paste-ups of the 1980s to digital productions of the last two decades, including new works produced on the occasion of the exhibition. Also featured are singular works in vinyl, her large-scale room wraps, multichannel videos, site-specific installations and commissioned works.
The book also showcases how Kruger’s site-specific works have been reconceived for each venue, and includes a section of reprinted texts selected by the artist.

Conceived in close collaboration with the artist, the exhibition at MO.CO. (Montpellier Contemporary) brings together some sixty works produced between 1999 and 2022. Exploring all her favourite media (sculptures, installations, drawings, watercolours and collages), it takes over the entire space. The selection includes six new works created specifically for MO.CO.
Although martyrdom, redemption and metamorphosis are well-known themes in Berlinde De Bruyckere’s work, the exhibition also focuses on lesser-known aspects such as eroticism, the relationships and hybridisations of human, plant and animal, and the notions of work and exploitation.
Berlinde De Bruyckere’s exhibition is accompanied by a richly illustrated catalogue published for the occasion in French and English. The graphic design was entrusted to the studio Tout va bien. It includes previously unpublished contributions by the South African writer and poet Antjie Krog and Numa Hambursin, general director of MO.CO., as well as an interview between the artist and the curators, Vincent Honoré, Anna Kerekes and Rahmouna Boutayeb.

The essays in this collection extend from Scott Brown 1969 text, “On Pop Art, Permissiveness and Planning” (written three years before the publication of Venturi, Scott Brown and Izenour‘s seminal book “Learning From Las Vegas”) to “Towards an Active Socioplastics” from 2007, which offers an overview of Scott Brown’s education and the gestation of her key architectural and urban ideas.

Throughout her pioneering seventy-year career, Eileen Agar (b.1899, Buenos Airies–d.1991, London) brought together the abstract qualities of Cubism with the anarchic tendencies of Surrealism. Her unique style nimbly spanned painting, collage, photography and sculpture. Combining order and chaos, Agar’s work fuses imagery from classical art, ancient mythologies and the natural world.
This comprehensive catalogue explores Agar’s work through essays by Andrew Lambirth, Laura Smith, Grace Storey and Marina Warner, as well as new poetry by Daisy Lafarge. Including full colour illustrations of all exhibited works, archival sketches, experimental collages and exhibition ephemera, the book also features a selection of previously unpublished writings by Agar.
